Citrus Heights has a history of City sponsored events even before Cityhood. City and community events create a sense of unity, a quality of life to the community and most importantly a great time!
Red, White and Blue Parade
The Red, White and Blue Parade is held on the 4th Saturday in June each year. The parade began two decades ago and originally took place at Sylvan Corners. The parade began as a “happy birthday” to the city. In 2002, after the Sept. 11 terrorist attack, the parade became known as the “Red, White & Blue Parade." Currently, the parade route runs along north of Madison Ave at Uplands Way ending near Greenback Lane at the Sunrise Mall. Click here to register and pay to participate in the parade. The deadline to register and pay is June 1, 2018.
A participation and release form must be signed by each participant/entry and sent to firstname.lastname@example.org to participate in the parade. Click here for the Participation and Release Form.
The Citrus Heights Community Campout is a one of a kind event. The event is co-sponsored with the Sunrise Recreation and Park District as well as REACH (Residents' Empowerment Association of Citrus Heights) and takes place at Rusch Park. Tents, stargazing, BBQ, roasting s'mores and a hearty breakfast the next morning create a family friendly campground right in Citrus Heights!
Hot August Bites
Hot August Bites replaced the Concerts in the Park event shared with Sunrise Recreation and Park District. The event parallels the famous Hot August Nights that takes place each year in Reno, NV. The event takes place at Rusch Park and consists of a car show, live music, food trucks, beer garden and free swim in the Rusch pool.
