The State of the City Broadcast directly supports one of the City’s current strategic goals: to improve community vibrancy and engagement.
Strategic goals, set by City Council every three years, provide staff focused direction for City efforts. Each of the five goals set for 2017-2020 have strategic objectives that serve as benchmarks every six months. While 2020 has been a year unlike any other, City staff remain committed to all the previously-set strategic goals, and have been finding innovative ways to continue to engage the community.
Beyond supporting a strategic goal, the State of the City Broadcast also serves to help our community connect while we are required to be socially-distant. Community surveys have shown that residents want to remain in-the-know, and value government transparency.
The theme of the event is based on our City slogan: Solid roots. New growth. 2020 has shown us that the solid community roots in Citrus Heights can weather any storm. We are proud to be sharing stories of resiliency from both our residents and our dedicated staff.
